Saw Dr Kaplan for a broken foot- 3 places. He saw me at short notice before Xmas, arranged MRI scans after hospital Xrays were not clear then said surgery was not the best option and referred me Physio. Although surgery would have been fully covered his patents best outcome comes first.

After failed bunion surgery on my right foot with another surgeon, I was advised by both my Podiatrist and Physio to see Dr Kaplan. Five months ago he operated on my left bunion and I had very little pain and tissue trauma.I did not have to perform any home physio and the result was so good I engaged Dr Kaplan to perform revision surgery on my right bunion three weeks ago. I have enjoyed another wonderful result and my hammertoe is finally back where it should be. Many thanks Dr Kaplan, I am delighted with my results.

Dr Kaplan recently performed corrective surgery on a severely bent big toe for me, straightening the joint so that I could walk without pain. He made it clear that the decision to proceed with surgery was mine, not his, and explained all possible outcomes clearly. He had previously performed major corrective surgery on my other foot, and in both cases I was extremely pleased with the outcome. His manner is friendly and relaxed, and the office staff could not have been more helpful. After a stressful and anxious encounter with another orthopaedic surgeon who was forcing surgery onto me Dr Kaplans front desk staff asked lots of questions over the phone to direct my concerns and questions directly to Dr Kaplan late on a Friday afternoon 4:45pm to be exact. I was told Dr Kaplan will return my call before he finished for the day (safe to say I didn’t believe them) at 4:55pm I received a call from Dr Kaplan. He calmed me down and booked me in for an urgent consultation. During my consultation Dr Kaplan was very thorough, very patient, very calm and had a very pleasant nature about him which made me feel very comfortable. Went to Dr kaplan about 18month before my actual surgery, I did go educated on the cartiva implant for my big toe, spoke at length with him, however I wasn’t ready to proceed due to work commitments. Went back 18 months late where his explained in more detail since there was more research on this type of implant, I proceeded knowing that if it didn’t work I had a fallback option of fusing the toe. It did take around 18 months for the toe to get back to 80% movement without any pain, now best decision I’ve made, 3.5 yrs down the track perfect. He takes the time to explain everything, your options and absolutely no pressure, even gave me all the sites and more for the additional research, good and bad, he is a gentleman, great surgeon.
